Data analysis and statistics in the master’s course «Applied Statistics in Elite Sports»

Data analysis and statistics are incre­a­singly important in many fields – including sport science and elite sports. At the Swiss Federal Institute of Sport Magglingen (SFISM), these topics are taught in the master’s course «Applied Statistics in Elite Sports». In the autumn semester 2020, Datahouse was involved in this course: Severin Trösch, who has been part of the Datahouse Data Science Team since September 2020 and was previously a researcher at the SFISM, taught as a guest lecturer for four weeks. The content of his lectures were the general principles of proba­bility theory and statistics.
