How psychiatric evaluations are entering the digital future

Using cutting-edge technology and a clear focus on data protection, a platform was developed that makes psychiatric evaluations faster, safer, and more efficient.

What once took hours can now be done in a fraction of the time.

Together with Datahouse, Salomo AG has reimagined the process of psychiatric assessment – efficient, secure, and forward-looking. A digital solution that eases the workload for professionals and frees up time for what truly matters: working with patients.

The application brings together all case data in one secure and intuitive place, giving professionals full visibility at every stage.

The vision

Salomo AG set out to simplify and accelerate the complex process of creating psychiatric assessments. Tasks such as transcribing interviews or summarising extensive records proved particularly time-consuming.

With a modern web application, Datahouse enabled a far more efficient handling of these tasks. Initially developed for in-house use, the tool was designed with a clear vision: to make it available to other professionals under a licensing model in the future.

Interviews, examinations, and audio recordings can now be managed and tracked centrally. This reduces administrative effort and allows more time for clinical work.

The challenge

Several key requirements had to be met during development:

Security and Data Protection

The highest standards were essential to ensure the secure handling of sensitive psychiatric data.

Technological Agility

Emerging technologies, especially large language models (LLMs), required a flexible approach to feature prioritisation.

Product Maturity and Scalability

A solid MVP needed to be defined while laying the groundwork for future licensing and growth.

Resources and Efficiency

The project was to be implemented within a clearly defined budget and as leanly as possible.

The solution

To meet these goals, the team adopted a pragmatic yet forward-looking approach:

Trusted Security Architecture

Using Keycloak and proven best practices, a robust foundation was created that respects the sensitive nature of psychiatric data.

Lean Implementation with Clear Focus

A modular structure and tightly scoped feature set ensured efficiency and adherence to budget.

Future-Ready Platform Design

The solution was built around a strong MVP that provides a stable base for future extensions and licensing opportunities.

Flexibility for Emerging Technologies

An agile development process allowed innovative approaches – such as LLM integration – to be tested and implemented without losing focus.

Efficiently create and manage assessments.

Benefits

The resulting solution already delivers measurable advantages today and opens up significant potential for the future:

Increased Efficiency and More Time for Patients

Time-consuming steps like transcription and file preparation are drastically reduced through automation, leaving more space for the medical work that truly matters.

Scalability

Its modular architecture enables flexible expansion with new features.

Innovation Capability

AI-assisted writing and automated analysis can be seamlessly integrated.

Business Potential

The platform provides a foundation for a new licensing model and additional revenue streams.

Secure Environment

Sensitive data is protected at all times, meeting the highest privacy standards with confidence.

Fazit

“With Datahouse’s expertise, we were able to develop a secure application that protects sensitive data while meeting the strictest privacy standards.”

PD Dr. med. Christoph Müller-Pfeiffer, CEO Salomo AG

He adds: “Their ability to adapt to changing requirements and implement new features was crucial to ensuring the app meets our evolving needs.”

This project demonstrates how digital solutions can create real value even in highly sensitive areas such as psychiatric assessments.
